This Is How We Do It

Meet Christine Wiethop,
Owner & Baker

I served as a teacher for nineteen years before taking the leap of faith to become a full-time business owner. I’m grateful for the way the Lord has provided in every way and guided my steps.

Over the years, I've created, tested, and tweaked many recipes. I’m grateful for all of my taste-testers, past and present, but especially for my husband Josh, my primary taste tester.

Baking connects me to those around me and enables me to give of myself. I pray while baking, which gives me peace. If you’ve ever eaten my treats or read my social media posts, I’ve prayed for you. Feel free to reach out and ask me to pray for you in a special way. Thank you for being here, and thank you for letting me bake and pray for you.

We flew to Triple Tree for this year’s fly-in and then went to Bush n Vine for lunch and such. ✈️🎃🍎

Our adventures in the plane are fun. Our adventures in life show us how great God is. It’s been a whirlwind the last few years, and the Lord has showered us in blessings. Through the hard, He has provided in every way. He’s been with us every step of the way, and we’re so grateful. God is good! 🙌💜

Thanks for walking with us in prayer. Thanks for showing us God’s love. 💛

It’s been so hot…and sometimes hotter in my kitchen! 😂
Is it almost Fall? Which do you prefer, Summer or Fall?

These cinnamon scones are my favorite! Have you tried one? The gluten-free ones are available at Crossroads, Anthem, and Chestnut (SVL, Five Forks, and Hartness). The regular ones are available at Crossroads and VitaNova.

Which do you prefer? Traditional leche flan or ube flan? They’re both super creamy. Do you like it plain, in halo halo, frozen…?

Thanks for letting me bake and pray for you. 💛

Available at @asianaislesfoodmarket

Happy and blessed Easter! Christ is risen. Alleluia! 🙌

I took a step back from social media during Lent. I was still on instagram for a few minutes most days, but I intentionally didn’t post as much on my story or here. It was nice taking the pressure off of myself and putting my phone down. I honestly wonder if anyone missed my posts anyway. Did you? 🤔

I’m grateful for you and for the way you cheer me on. Thank you for being here. Thanks for praying with and for me, as well as for asking me to pray for you. I’m so blessed. 💛

Happy and blessed Sunday! I was reflecting on the message I heard today and how it fits our lives. Then I started thinking about my whole business journey. I’m so grateful that God is the CEO of Baking Sweet Scents! 💜

When people talk to me about starting their baking businesses, they don’t want me to tell them to simply let the Lord guide them. So I tell them some of the lessons I’ve learned along the way. I tell them not to make the “mistakes” I made. 🤍

Gluten-free and delicious. These blueberry scones are a favorite item at Chestnut Coffee. 🩵

I’m thankful for the opportunity to bake and pray for the Chestnut family - for the owners and their family, employees, and all who’ll eat these scones. 💜
